4 More Reasons to Live in Texas

Wide Open Spaces

I have to admit, I love taking a drive and just seeing wide open space. Something about living a little off the grid in Hawaii really made me aware of just how pleasing it is to have a serene, calm surrounding.

With so much space in Texas, it’s easy to find yourself a little lost. In a good way!

Family-Friendly Attractions

It’s incredible how Texas is filled with family-friendly attractions that seem to never end. From theme parks to water parks, there is something for everyone all year round.

In fact, there are so many kid-friendly parks and activities in DFW you can spend your whole summer or spring break here without having to travel far. This is something I pitched to my sister this year.

Instead of an expensive and out of the way Disney trip, we could spend all week exploring something new. From Boulders in Grand Prairie where they can rock climb and go through dozens of adventures, to Epic Waters where they can swim and splash all day.

There really is so much in DFW to do.

Rich History

From the Alamo to the Space Center, Texas is steeped in history and heritage. Exploring our state’s past is not only educational but also incredibly inspiring.

I personally love taking walking tours around the Fort Worth Stockyards and even Downtown Dallas where buildings are historic and rich with stories. I’m a big fan of the Old West too, so there’s plenty to learn and explore in Cowboy town!

Two-Stepping & Cowboying

Last but certainly not least, there’s just something special about the Texan way of life. My favorite places to two-step and enjoy some country music are nearby us and offer so much fun for our family.

Nothing beats putting on your cowboy boots and heading to a dance hall or rodeo.

So, there you have it, folks – my top 10 (+4) reasons for living in Texas and choosing to raise my family here. It’s a decision I’ll never regret, and I hope this glimpse into life in the Lone Star State has inspired you to join us on this incredible journey.

The Texas Mini Farm Family Life

Well, hello Intently Community. It’s been a while…

    Intently Amy

This is me… Intently Amy! I want to start by thanking YOU. If you’re reading this, you’ve probably been part of my community and my journey since my child free by choice days. Or maybe you’ve followed me more recently for the motivational and intentional living content.

As I embark on a new journey in my life, I am saying hello to one amazing conscious choice I’ve made and that is to have a family.

Just last year, my husband Derek and I were living about a 5 minute walk from the beach in Oahu, HI. We were living what we could only explain as a dream.

Our YouTube channel, Live in Texas, has been introducing us to new people looking to find homes in the Dallas area. The real estate business is doing well (enough) for now.

So, when we moved back we employed ourselves to find a perfect starter Texas homestead. For many, this 1.7 acre plot on the outskirts of Dallas is enough. But for us, it’s just the beginning. This is where we’ll meet our children for the first time, learn to raise our chickens and goats, and then expand to our forever dream farm and ranch.

This plan has been cooking in our minds for a long while and it’s finally coming to a reality. Last year in September, we had our first baby girl. She’s an absolute incredible little one with so much personality already for a 6 month old.

We’re eager to raise her on the farm life and are sharing our experiences along the way!

As for this first blog in a long time, I’m keeping it short. Please subscribe to our emails by joining the community, and subscribe to my YouTube channel – Intently Amy & The Texas Mini Farm Family. Here’s what you can expect:
